PROPOSED WORKING TIMETABLE
The Welcome Installation and Management session shall take place on September 21 at 18:30 hrs. The working timetable that is being proposed is from 08:30 to 14:00 hrs and from 15:00 to 19:00 hrs. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS AND RESERVATIONS
The Local Committee has obtained special rates at the Real Plaza Hotel . All participants must book their own rooms in the hotel by e-mail or fax. You should announce that you will be attending the GISELA KoM to get the special rate (around $ 600 pesos for a single room, breakfast included).
It is important to book your room as quickly as possible. All reservations must include a credit card number. You shall receive a message of confirmation when your reservation has been accepted by the hotel. For information about the time-limits to cancel your reservation, please contact the hotel directly.
AIRPORT AND BUS TRANSPORTATION

The San Luis Potosi International Airport is located about 40 minutes away from the city.
There is a taxicab service at the exit of the Flight Arrival Area. The rate to downtown San Luis Potosi where the hotel is located is, on average, about $ 200.00 pesos.

Getting from Mexico City’s Airport to the North Bus Station (Central de Autobuses del Norte)
By TAXI
1. Mexico City’s Airport has TERMINAL1 and TERMINAL2 and you can take TAXIs from any of the terminals. You will find just outside from the Custom Area different TAXI booths. These are the official cabs – please do not take any taxi outside the airport

2. Tell the attendant you are going to “Central de Autobuses del Norte” (North Bus Station), she/he will tell you the zone and will charge you an amount, you can pay cash or credit card (aprox. $16 US dlls or $200 pesos). She/he will give you a ticket that you will give to the taxi driver. Ask the attendant to tell you in which place are the TAXIs parked because there are different companies and there is no signs that you can follow. Sometimes you will have to wait on a line to get your taxi (peak hours).
3. Ask the driver to be taken to the Central de Autobuses del Norte.
4. Time to get there may vary because of traffic jams. Approx. 30 minutes without traffic jams.
By Subway (METRO)
1. Mexico City’s METRO is very alike the subway in Paris, you pay a plain fee no matter the distance. Walk to the station TERMINAL AEREA which may be reached exiting the Airport in TERMINAL 1 (http://www.metro.df.gob.mx/red/estacion.html?id=73). (The station entrance is a few meters away from the airport’s domestic flights exit)
2. Board the subway on direction to POLITECNICO station.
3. Get off on the station AUTOBUSES DEL NORTE (8 stations) approx. 16 minutes (http://www.metro.df.gob.mx/red/estacion.html?id=79).
4. Exit the station; the Bus Central’s building is only a few meters away.

1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Nationals from Argentina, France, Italy, Panama, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela do not need to apply for a Mexican visa.
Nationals from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador and Peru need to apply for a Mexican visa.
2. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

3. LANGUAGE
Spanish is Mexico’s official language.
4. ELECTRICAL CURRENT
The electrical current in San Luis Potosi (and all around Mexico) is 110 volts.
We would like to suggest you bring with you electric current adapters.
5. WEATHER
San Luis Potosi is in the Central Plateau of Mexico,
due to higher elevation, it has pleasant spring-like conditions most of the year. Rain is frequent from June through September. Annual average temperature: 65º F or 18º C. The weather in San Luis Potosi is mild and dry in September. Normal temperatures fluctuate between 16ºC and 24ºC.
6. MONEY, EXCHANGE & CREDIT
The Mexican economy operates on the rise and fall of the Peso. While most businesses will accept foreign currency, especially US dollars and Euros, using pesos is your best bet. Foreign currency can be exchanged at one of many casas de cambio (exchange houses).
Mexican banking hours are normally Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 P.M. however for money exchange the hours time are normally from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Casas de cambio are open later than most banks and they generally offer quicker service.
Credit cards are widely accepted, with Visa, MasterCard, and American Express being the most popular.
